The Sub.mission agency welcomes multifaceted producer Addison Groove to its ever-strengthening roster of talented artists spanning all sounds, styles, moods and influences. First rising onto the dance music's spotlight as dubstep artist Headhunter, Addison Groove derives influences from his jungle, hardcore and deep dubstep roots to create a unique style that blends juke, footwork and booty house; captivating audiences around the globe with his authenticity.
Standing as the juke-infused alter-ego of Headhunter, Bristol-born Addison Groove has become notorious for conjuring up a unique mixture of juke, footwork and booty house; melting together the 808-derived percussion of juke with high-pitched toms, rapid-fire samples and Chicago’s South Side influences, then slowing it down to weighty, UK bass speeds. Calling on his deeply ingrained bass music roots, Addison Groove infuses his footwork productions with undertones of jungle, hardcore and deep dubstep. With the release of “Footcrab” with Swamp 81 in 2010, Addison Groove made it clear that his idiosyncratic sound boasted impeccable timing and rich applications of footwork, resulting in an all around addicting and novel musical style.
Following the release of his debut album Transistor Rhythm on Modeselektors' 50 Weapons imprint in 2012, Addison Groove has only continued to prove his unique musical magnetism, consistently drawing fans and industry members to his productions and club nights. Addison Groove has carried his distinct sound onto a myriad of releases since then, through labels such as Hyperdub, Swamp 81, Tectonic and Gutterfunk and captivating audiences around the globe playing sets at noteworthy festival, club nights and platforms, like on Boiler Room, Rinse FM and BBC1.
