For more than 5 years, Sub.mission's Electronic Tuesdays have hosted artists from all over the world and across all spectrums of music, from the ones who have been in the game for a while, to the ones that are newer to the scene but gaining momentum fast. On Tuesday March 8, Lory Kong and Durandal will be taking the stage for a night that is sure to dig deep, push the soundsystem, and take you on a journey through the sounds.
Coming from Utah, Durandal is a name that is gaining momentum in todays ever changing and evolving dubstep scene. His unique and wobbly style stems from his history of drumming, and involves skilled percussion and an array of samples that make each piece of production different from the others. With an awesome collection of originals, collabs involving The Widdler, Pushloop, and more, and remixes of tunes by artists such as Truth, Caspa, and Wiley, Durandal perfectly showcases his ability to take his own personal style and add it to anything to give it a distinct flare. 2015 was a big year for Durandal, including an EP on Unified Audio tittled “Into the Darkness” as well as a long list of new tunes - each with a style of their own - and in 2016 and beyond he has no plans to slow down. Durandal was just recently welcomed on to the Sub.mission Agency team, and we have big plans for his well deserved career in music.
Lory Kong is from the southern state of Texas, and it’s safe to say that he is well accustomed to the special dubstep scene that the US has going on today. He is a member of the Texas based dubstep crew “Villainz” and is also surrounded by the Gritsy bassweight family from Houston. Lory Kongs style balances on his love for drums/percussion, as well as his ability to add the perfect headnoddin' baseline to any tune, and it incorporates his appreciation for the dubby/reggae style of music that stands strong as one of the biggest inspirations to dubstep music producers today. With releases on Milc, Duploc, and a few EPs released with The Villainz crew, Lory Kong has had a consistent flow of music that proves he has a pot of talent brewing. 2016 is already looking to be a good year for Lory, and this upcoming Tuesday is his first show in Denver and we are excited to show him how we do it here. Lory Kong was also just recently welcomed to the Sub.mission Agency team and is a really great addition with a lot to look forward to.
