2016 is in full swing and Sub.mission continues to move forward into the year with a massive amount of momentum following a very amazing January. It would seem that this month came upon us very fast but as they say, time flies when you’re having fun and no doubt February will be the same, if not better. How could it not be with a line up as such? There’s the five year celebration of Denver’s best weekly event, a completely stacked line up for this month’s edition of Electronic Tuesdays, a one off event at The Bluebird Theater and a very special BASSment Underground event you don’t want to miss. Even though February is a short month it is full of some serious bangers that you don’t want to sleep on. So get ready to mark your calendars because here comes February’s edition of This Month in Bass.
This month’s installment of Electronic Tuesdays is a very special one. We start off with the Five Year Anniversary of Electronic Tuesdays @ The Other Side with legendary dubstep players and originators Youngsta, Hatcha & Commodo. These three men are no strangers to Denver and are considered Sub.mission family. They have been here throughout Electronic Tuesday’s five year existence and there isn't a doubt in anyone’s mind that they are going to bring some serious heat to Five Points. Furthermore, kicking off the night we have the showcase of Sub.mission’s newest additions to the residency roster. Aowl, Trisicloplox, Bean and Ind33p will take control and get and us all started with a massive back to back set. Each one of these men has put in some serious work over the years as street teamers, stage managers, agency artists and all around soldiers in our .mission to “Hustle Knowledge” to the masses. It is truly an honor to have them on board as residents and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us come Tuesday. This is going to be one hell of an E-Tuesday Birthday party and we can’t wait to spend it with all of you!
Following the massive birthday bash Electronic Tuesday's continue with three seriously stacked line ups. On February 8th we have the return of the bass heavy jazz man Swindle alongside Sub.mission resident Dubwol. February 16th the one and only Headhunter takes over The Other Side with Dillard and Cetadon (aka DJ Chris) on support and closing out February E-Tuesdays is the long awaited return of legendary dubstep boss Jakes with support from bad boys Thanom and Subliminal. Starting off the battle portion of Electronic Tuesdays we have GBP, SANDOS & Sin7 going head to head in the January Winners round and battling it out for a slot in next month’s winners showcase are Killa Nilla, Synchronicity, Ether, Iant., Bonkerz, DJ_Stumpy, Gorillaphant & Dalek One. Even though the month is short there’s definitely no shortage of talent hitting the Electronic Tuesday’s stage.
Next up is a special one off that is sure to make your head spin. Sub.mission and The Untz.com team up to bring you the Rise of Wakaan Tour with Liquid Stranger, Space Jesus and Au5 to The Bluebird Theater on Friday February 19th. Liquid Stranger is no stranger (no pun intended lol) to Denver. Those of you that remember how rowdy it got when we brought him out to The Ogden alongside Excision in 2012 already know that when dubstep comes to Colfax it is not to be missed. He is a serious bad man and he will show us no mercy when he makes his arrival to the Mile High City. Playing alongside the Swedish bad man is new Colorado transplant Space Jesus and the New Jersey bad man representing Monstercat Records, Au5. This line up is diverse in every way special and you can bet that this night is going to shake Colfax to its core. Get ready Denver, this is going to be a rowdy one.
Closing the month of February is a seriously stacked edition of BASSment Underground. Hailing from New York we have the one and only Doctor Jeep alongside New Mexico homie Crix Siaz and Sub.mission residents Subliminal and Ind33p. Known for his immensely diverse sets, Doctor Jeep is going to bring an array of sounds representing the full spectrum of bass music to the Vinyl basement. If you're unfamiliar with him make sure you check the link below to get yourself acquainted because he is about to have us turning up come February 27th. On support we have Crix Siaz and if you caught his set last month when he opened up for Djunya @ Electronic Tuesdays you know that he brings some serious southwest heat. All this plus massive sets from residents Subliminal and Ind33p! These guys are definiely going to make this edition of BASSment Underground the best one yet. Don't forget that this one is an 18+ event so tell all your friends and your friend’s friends to make their way down to the SoCo district and into the Vinyl basement because we’re about to have Broadway bouncing off the walls.
This month is absolutely jam packed with talent. We have dubstep OG’s playing alongside some seriously talented new blood to bring you the past, present and future of the bass music sound. There’s no doubt in our minds that you’re going to leave each and every show with a massively huge grin and the need to have more in echoing in your heart. The good thing about Denver is you know Sub.mission is constantly working hard to give you more and each line up that is on its way is going to be bigger and better than the last. Sub.mission doesn’t play and if you couldn’t tell by the 9 year announcement this morning, things are getting serious in 2016. As our esteemed host X-TS says, pay attention, because we’re moving forward with serious force!
