February has come and gone and 2016 is shaping up to be one memorable year. With every passing Tuesday and Saturday we continue to be blown away by artist after artist, each set more amazing than the last. Spring is almost here and Sub.mission is ready to move you forward into what is looking like an absolutely smashing month ahead. So whether you’re ready for what lies in the coming month or you just moved into town and you’re looking to experience something different, amazing and potentially life changing, get ready for this edition of This Month In Bass.
We start with Electronic Tuesdays and what better way to start than with the battle. Last month only saw two battles and both victors are going head to head in the February Winners Showcase. Denver rude boys Iant. & Dalek One will take the stage @ 9pm and give us their all in what will be a very serious battle. both of these guys are extremely talented producers and DJ's so make sure you get in early because this is going to be a winners round not to be missed. Following the winners round we have Toadface and Levitation Jones. These two are currently on tour and have making big waves in the last year, leaving a ton of new fans and followers in their wake. By the looks of that line up every DJ in the house is sure to have us going off from open to close, we hope you're ready. The following week one of the latest additions to the Sub.mission Agency, Lory Kong, makes his Electronic Tuesday debut alongside fellow agency artist Durandal. Adding to this already big night, we have experimental beatbox & acapella genius Heatbox and local up and comer Thanom on support. On March 15th we have the long awaited arrival of Polish dub music master Radikal Guru alongside Nottingham duo Congi, California transplant Nikka T and Mindstep homie Syte. The week after is the Electronic Tuesday’s Spring break party with round two of versus sets from Mikey Fisher, Shoebox, Trisicloplox, DMVU, Omega & RumbleJunkie and closing out March is the highly anticipated return of P0gman alongside Sub.mission residents Ind33p & Sektah! Make sure you get to each event early to catch the weekly battles as well! The Sub.mission crew has selected DJ's Sexualmente, Xenolinguist, Unicornrave , Rem & Ryuk, King Doja, Nofrendo, New Renaissance, Gumshoe, DJ SOLI, Masta Dre, Crimsic, Disciple 13, RAW DAWG, Fastlife, The Toddfatha & GDLK to all go head to head for a slot in the March Winner’s round before Badklaat & Requake on April 5th for the Sub.mission 9 year Pre-Party. That one is going to be a seriously massive night so you know these artists are going to bring their "A" game. March Electronic Tuesdays is stacked to the brim with talent and it’s a safe bet that each week we’ll be left amazed and begging for more as each artist takes Five Points by storm. We cant wait!
Friday March 4th Cervantes, Sub.mission and Dirty/Clean Present: Bondax and Friends w/ Henry Krinkle option4, Gilligan Moss & Dawn Safari. If Bondax isn’t on your radar then you need to change situation that immediately. These two are a force to be reckoned with and their creative versatility and high energy is sure to have the crowd at Cervantes going all night! Joining them is Florida producer/DJ Henry Krinkle, Chicago boss Gilligan Moss and locals option4 & Dawn Safari. If you know the music you know it’s a switch up from the usual sound but we’re sure that if you’re going to love it. This is going to be an intimate night of chill music that would be a perfect setting for a date *ahem hint hint fellas* so we promise you’re going to have a blast. Saturday March 5th we take it to The Paradise of The Pacific when Sub.mission Hawaii and Nextdoor present CloZee! We are beyond excited to join forces with Nextdoor and Half/Scene for a very special event featuring one of the scenes fastest up and comers alongside some of Oahu's best locals! In the last year French producer CloZee, aka Chloé, has been making huge waves within the downtempo scene with appearances at massive festivals all over the globe and we cannot wait for you to experience her unique performance live. Adding to the already amazing vibe of the night we have local supporting sets from MF Coon vs Sam Lamb, Safe Travels & DJ Jem. This one is sure to be another massive event for Sub.mission Hawaii!!
We finish this edition with the announcement of the return of a legendary night in the Denver dubstep scene. Saturday March 12th marks the return of The BASS:ment Sessions w/ Sub.mission Residents and Friends. The night gets started with a resident tag session as Caustik, Dillard, Sektah, AOWL, Bean, CurlyOnE, Subliminal, Ind33p, and Swayd go head to head in a massive back to back session. Following that madness we have individual sets from Trisicloplox & Confidential. Collective rude gal Siren. We finish the night with a set from the “Last DJ Standing”. What does that mean? Well your just going to have to come and find out ;) This one is 18+ and FREE so get yourself to the Vinyl Basement and prepare to experience Denver Dubstep at its core!
Sub.mission is charging through 2016 with a serious force. The amount talent coming through only adds to the reputation that Denver carries as a major epicenter for music in the country. Sub.mission is proud to be a big part of that but none of this would be possible without the love and support from all of you, the fans, who give such an amazing amount of love to the scene week in and week out. With the massive amount of people that have been moving here in the last few years we can honestly say that it’s been amazing to watch new comers from around the globe make Denver home and join us in the underground united in beats, bass and vibes. We look forward to raging on the floor with all of you at every upcoming Electronic Tuesday, BASS:ment Session and "One Off" event that is on the horizon. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though, we know what lies ahead and we’re all really excited too but let’s get through this one event at a time. March is too amazing to not enjoy.
