Last Thursday and Friday, one of dubstep's biggest modern names, Excision, was rolling through town with his 100,000 watt PK sound system, and Denver showed him how we get down, with two nights of pure madness. Supporting the headliner was moomba-electro maistro, Lucky Date, and dubstep heavyweight, Liquid Stranger. Each of them have their own particular style, but the crowd was open for anything, as they warmed up for the main attrraction each night. The sound at this show was definitely the focus point, as Excision brought in enough noise to power 100 Honda Civics and their subs, literally shaking the roof off the Ogden. Pieces of paint were falling both nights, and many people had no choice but to buy the custom Excision ear plugs provided at the merch booth. The man is known for his aggressive, metal-like sound structures, and both nights highlighted the songs that have put him on top of dubstep in North America. Playing all the "hits", as well as an array of remixes and other favorites, Excision threw down harder than many people were ready for. All the kids enjoyed the spectacular display of bass, and even the older heads had to appreciate the sheer power coming out of the speakers. In addition, he brought his brand new stage set-up that includes a giant "X" within which he conducts the show. The entire experience was defintely a sensory overload, and set the bar for sound, if not pushed the limit, for dubstep shows here in Denver. As we continue to push bass music this year, we hope to bring in some of the world's best sound systems, and trust me, you will not want to miss some of the rigs we have lined up!!

This was honest to God the
This was honest to God the BEST show I have ever been to, and quite personally i felt like it ripped Decadence 2012 to shreds. At this point.. I feel like the only way the Global Dub Festival in May better bring at 120k watts if they feel like competing. OR..... Excision AND Liquid Stranger would have to join the May lineup and Sub.Mission better be ready to throw down a 12 hour show at Red Rocks. At first i thought the Ogden wasnt ready for this show, but it turns out the Ogden was more than prepared, and it was I who was indeed not ready for this spectacle of a show. Major Fucking props to Sub.Mission for hosting this show. DENVER IS THE DUBSTEP CAPITAL OF THE U.S.
