This Week in BASS!

What up bass peeps and welcome to another fine edition of This Week in BASS! You know what that means right…yep, it’s going to be yet another monster week. Check it…

We get the week blasted off in a real good direction at this week’s E-Tuesday’s at Cervantes’ Otherside with a huge headliner show. Bringing the big bumps to Dtown will be the massive sound of Mantis presented by Sub.mission. For only forming just a year ago Producer/DJs Taylor Scott and Paul Ollinger of ATL have made a hard impact in scene and sound of electronic music. Mantis brings a bone-crushing sound they like to call DeathStep, that is some of the heaviest and dirtiest out there right now and it’s no wonder why they’re apart of Heavy Artillery and Play Me Records. The live show will be intense and aggressive in-your-face bass drops all over the place and it’s going to be super hyphy set so don’t sleep on these dudes. Getting it heated up before that will be Sub.mish’s bass hungry resi Mr. Rumblejunkie, and opening things up is Steptech, Reconekt, DJ Synergy, Intergalactic Noise Force…Please don’t miss out and come get down to the biggest and best bass show in the town, maybe the even the nation, just saying…Come see what up for yourself!

As we enter the weekend we come up on the last Friday in February which can only mean one thing, Bassic Friday’s at Club Beta. Bringing nothing but the top-notch shows in on a weekly basis and doing the biggest things in the scene for the sound, for the city. You can expect nothing the but the best again this week as two badmen in Joe Nice and Shiftee are set to display their mad skills on the tables. They call Joe Nice an ambassador of the dubstep sound in North America. Representing Baltimore, Nice has been around since the beginning of the sound and one of the major influences in pushing that sound in the states and even worldwide. Along with a set from one of the nastiest mixers out there in Shiftee, this night will be a show deep in the roots of historic dub mixed with high and rising talent. Young gun Samuel Zornow from New York City is simply a genius, not only on the decks, but in life. This kid has already won multiple awards, is a Harvard grad, a professor and a killer of a music maker. This is a night in bass where you can learn something new and start to know a thing or two about what we do and also catch some serious up-and-coming talent along the way. Opening things up will be Sub residents Thorazine & MC Juakali. Don’t miss out! Catch you on the dancefloor!

And then comes Saturday, a very special day for our Sub.mission fam. As we will be presenting to you Tunnidge (our first new resident appearance) Kush Arora and MC Jualkali. It’s going to get live at Cervantes Masterpiece and will be the place to get schooled on some real deep bass. Tim Langridge aka Tunnidge, hails from where the sound sprouted, South London. He is one of the more creative, realest and most loyal og’s in the dubstep world and is a true verteran producer playing a key proponent in this movement of a sound that we’re trying to pursue. It is a sound that you can feel on that level, that’s deep, dark, and hypnotic, and Tunnidge is just that. His work has earned him a spot in the Deep Medi crew and also his co-owned label Chestplate. Set to crush before that will be some fresh and funky dready bass of the San Fran native, Kush Arora. This will be one of a kind and all original night in bass. With a whole show of greats acts lined up MC Juakali will be spitting venomous lyrics to some sickass beats to things heated up along with a special tag set with Sub crew’s Dayquill and Subliminal and also this months showcase winner White Robot opening up. This will be a big night for our team and will be something special to witness, we promised the bass culture, and this is where you will get it. Come learn some roots of the sound and be apart of the movement!
